|
Hi, I hope i have posted this in the correct place.
I want to listen UK sports via BBC 5live. They block non-UK users. I do not understand what proxy works with BBC & what does not & why.
I have on a few occations used the UK proxy list on this site to do it. But other times it does not work.
It works with transparent proxies. & http://whatismyipaddress.com/ shows me as being in the UK
When I cannot get BBC UK 5live sports I have tested the proxy i'm using and it is working ( I can get BBC 5live international version) But http://whatismyipaddress.com/ blocks me from their site.
I do not understand socks / http or any of that stuff.
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this matter.
Thanks John

Hi John,
you definitely need UK proxy. Anonymous one. Does not matter HTTP or Socks. It should be in the UK address space. If you find one you will be able to listen to BBC live broadcasts. _________________ XROXY.COM - More than just proxy

You can listen to the BBC Radio5 and other programs if you get reliable and fast proxy in UK. Since open proxies found on many proxy web sites are not performing well I suggest you get your personal UK proxy. Send me an email for details: bbciplayer@gmx.com

These proxies are not free. You have ot contact their owner and ask for user name and password. _________________ XROXY.COM - More than just proxy

If the proxy asks for authentication and you do not provide correct username and password you are shown an error page which usually contain proxy admin email or something. _________________ XROXY.COM - More than just proxy

Eventually when you click cancel or press escape you will see the default proxy error page with proxy admin details. _________________ XROXY.COM - More than just proxy

Isn't there any way of filtering out those that ask for a username & password?
Cheers

sounds good, I'm new here so all news on how to get hold of bbc radio or the bbc i-player is super. I've used apps like sopcast before to be able to watch the footy but of course it then had chinese commentators which is better than nothing, but now with the six nations going on and more world cup qualifiers coming up it would be brilliant to get hold of a proxy which will allow me to at least listen to the matches. The problem with the football is that it's setanta who owns the rights to them. Anyway any help or info on this would be perfect.

I am new here and am also looking for a good UK proxy so I can watch BBC 1 broadcasts. I tried the gmx.com e-mail but they want you to go through PayPal before you can start a trial, and it will eventually bill you if you don't go back to PayPal to cancel. I am not comfortable giving out all the info. beforehand and possibly being charged for something that doesn't work. There must be another way... any update??
